SKECHERS

I tweeted about metaphorically being behind 0-2 in the count and still hitting the ball out of the park. For those non baseball fans, this means that you have 2 strikes on you and one strike before you take an out and have to sit down. This economy has proven tough on everyone and everyone’s family; kids, adults, grandparents, etc. I have seen baseball players stand up to the plate have an 0-2 count and still hit the ball out of the park. How do they do this?

Did God gift them with super talent more than the average person? Are they special? No, they’re not. Everyone struggles. No one is immune to struggle and difficulty. But, the one thing that I know for fact, is that you can be down and feel behind and you can rise up and hit the ball and bounce back in life. Now, how do YOU do this?

Belief. You must believe that you still have the talent and can bounce back. You must not think about the fact that you’re 0-2 you must re-focus and re-calibrate and believe that the pitch coming is fresh and new and you are actually 0-0 in the count. In other words, the best baseball players do not focus on the fact that they are behind in the count or the 2 strikes. They focus instead on one pitch at a time.

You must also bat for average instead of swinging for the fences. In the real world and non baseball world this means to do whatever it is you do each and everyday instead of doing it once in a while and hoping for a home run. Home runs are very difficult to get. Incremental success is the key to increasing your chances when you’re 0-2 in life.
