This chapter examines the impact of marketing on a cats wealth building abilities. Whatever you have, make, or sell, you need to have a serious marketing plan to reach as many people as possible.
Yeah, I know, many people have told you this but out of all the people that I consult with on a daily basis, very few businesses, regardless of their race, have a true marketing plan. It is not sufficient enough to just simply state that you want to attain
wealth or get a job or get a lot of contracts or whatever. Talking about this will get you nowhere. You must create a marketing plan and execute on the plan. Do not guess about your plan or your potential customers. You also dont need sophisticated plans to know who your customers are like all of these bullshit marketing people will tell you.
You need to reach as many people with your message that you can within your budget. I’ve seen some people do this at the local grocery store, some people try to reach people selling at the local gas station, and some people try to do it by word of mouth.
The numbers of people who see your message, buy into your message, and purchase whatever it is that you sell will determine your wealth. This means that if you talk to 25 people at the gas
station about your music, your chances of actually selling to these people are very low. You may sell 5 cds but it certainly will not make you rich.
Instead, go online to www.melissadata.com or www.usps.gov and find out the number of people that reside in your target zip code. If you don’t know the zip codes in the area that you wish to reach, go to the United States Post Office website listed above and enter the city and state name in the browser and it will show you all the zip codes for that specific city and/or area.
