Cash Money/Universal Motown Grammy-winning, multi-platinum hip-hop icon Lil Wayne has announced that “6 Foot 7 Foot,” the first single from his forthcoming album, THA CARTER IV, was released to radio and available at iTunes on December 15, 2010. Lil Wayne will kick off the countdown to the release of THA CARTER IV, due out in early 2011, by performing “6 Foot 7 Foot,” produced by Bangladesh, on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on December 18, followed by New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly on December 31.
THA CARTER IV is the hotly awaited follow-up to Lil Wayne’s ninth album, 2010’s I Am Not A Human Being. Propelled by the hit single “Right Above It,” featuring Drake, which is quickly approaching platinum certification, I Am Not A Human Being soared to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, in addition to topping Billboard’s Digital Albums chart, Rap Albums chart, and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
The close of 2010 finds Lil Wayne capping off an outstanding decade that included selling more than 10 million records and earning eight Grammy nominations for his multi-platinum 2008 album, Tha Carter III, which shattered records by selling over one million copies in its first week of release. The New Orleans native who hails from the rough streets of Hollygrove is a veteran artist who released his first tracks at age 12 after he was introduced to Cash Money CEOs Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams. He released the first installment of Tha Carter series in 2004, which added to his platinum plaques, followed by Tha Carter II in 2006, which further solidified Lil Wayne’s status as one of the best MCs in the hip hop game. But it was 2008’s critically acclaimed Tha Carter III that gave Lil Wayne his iconic stature in popular music, paving the way for his advisory role to grow as CEO of Young Money Records.
Master P never ever ceases to amaze me and push his family to new heights of music and entertainment. No artist is released without full merchandising in place just like we did it back in 1994. Great work to Cymphonique Miller!
Dare is the crazy, sexy, smart debut novel by Abiola Abrams- the story of a sociologist who goes undercover and winds up in too deep as a racy rapper searching for love in the glam world of entertainment. This chick lit version of Faust, set in the world of Hollyhood is a searing tale of love, music and temptation. The novel has been called an African American Bridget Jones Diary.
This is not cool at all. I love Wesley Snipes as an actor. Reportedly, Wesley Snipes earned over $38 Million since 1999 and never paid any taxes on the money qualifying him as evading the IRS. This is NOT what you want to do in America as it gives you a first class ticket straight to Leavenworth prison or somewhere like that. On November 19, 2010 Wesley was sentenced to 3 years in Federal Prison in Florida.
