If there is one thing that Lebron James is learning and seeing as a young black man in entertainment, the media will launch you underneath a bus quickly and fan the flames of negativity so much to where they will program people to really HATE you over bouncing a ball. It’s a amazing to see the backlash and how many people were into this one young black athlete winning. It was as if people said “you better win or die” especially in the city of Cleveland, Ohio.
It shows how much living in the United States as a young black man is very dangerous when you’re highly successful. People want you to hang your head in shame if you don’t bring them a crown. The only thing people are interested in for Lebron James is winning. They don’t care about anything else and want to force this young dude to win or get the hell off the television.
It’s really sad to see the criticism and the innate hatred that people really have for this cat. Lebron James doesn’t owe the United States or the city of Miami, Cleveland, or any city any apology for anything. He did the best he could. It should rest there but it wont. This is the down side of entertainment and sports and hows how America will build up the black athlete, only to cut the black athlete down at the knees when we do not perform for America the way America wants us to.
Keep your head up, Lebron James. The real people know how well you play and how much you tried to win. And I’m saying that and I was actually pulling for the Dallas Mavericks and actually wanted The Lakers to take the championship.
