Angela Pitts AKA Myammee on VH1 Flavor of Love
I was just looking at a so-called celebrity website of Myammee who was on a reality show on VH1. As an extreme analyst, I analyze everyone’s website traffic and have web statistical analytics embedded in my browser so that I can see a website’s statistics as soon as I land on it. While she has ten times more Twitter followers than me, her website ranks as one of the lowest websites on the web. Why is this? She’s beautiful, she was on the holy grail of all black people’s minds – television and a major network, she is selling sex appeal and has her self shot in the proverbial panties pictures with a calendar showing breasts and her butt (and she looks great by the way), and it’s a clean web design. However, she’s getting no traffic on the site at all.
I saw another celebrity in this same predicament. Lots of Twitter followers in the tens of thousands but ZERO web traffic. So, they appear on Twitter to have it going on but in reality, no one is checking for their website. There is a reason for this. A real reason. The reason for the super low web traffic numbers is because most celebrities/athletes and entertainers are about themselves. They incessantly talk about THEM, their movies, their bodies, their strip club, THEM. The secret to getting traffic and the secret to why my website is growing exponentially is because I talk about the READER or the viewer.
This reminds me of a conversation that I was having with a stripper in Atlanta this week. She actually called herself famous when I was chatting with her on Twitter. Yes, she works at Magic City in Atlanta which is a semi-famous strip club. Yes, she looks great in a super form fitting tight dress and she has a body that could stop a train in real life. This stops and is not applicable in the online world. In person and at her place of work, she might get a ton of dudes willing to throw money at her. Online, nobody cares. Online she is not famous because you can go online and see 25,000 naked women in 3 seconds. What people want and read online is what can help them through their day. Tits and ass will typically not get people through their daily grind and help them achieve anything. So, incessantly talking about yourself doesn’t work on Twitter or Facebook and will get people to tune out.
If you want to grow anything online, you’ve got to talk about stuff that resonates with people. Stuff that people are at least mildly interested in and actually talk about it. Talking about YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU all day long is boring as ever. Nobody wants to hear about you like that online.
