I was listening to Bill O’Reilly talk last night on his Fox Network show that caters to the political right wing folks and he kept saying “the truth is…”. This led me to really know that people who are in front of a camera on major news networks really have Americans convinced that because they are sitting in front of millions of people each day, that their truth is THE TRUTH. WRONG!
I wish people would think on their own and stop believing in these media heads 1000% just because they see the every day. I want people to hear something and go on a fact finding mission to uncover the real truth. Truth will never be told by one singular person because all truth is relative and subjective to that person’s beliefs and ideology. Need an example? Let me show you.
My Truth: I grew up on food stamps and welfare in Peoria Illinois on Johnson Street and then onto Broadway Street. I could easily say that every African American person who grows up poor in the midwest doesn’t stand a chance to make it in life. That could be my truth. Someone who grew up down the street from me, Curley Boo Johnson, grew up to become a famous Harlem Globetrotter and has traveled the world and visited the Pope in Italy. Is my truth Boo Johnson’s truth? Is his truth my truth?
Truth is relative to the person. So, when Mr. Bill O’Reilly says “The truth is….” and refers to anything about Whoopi Goldberg or Barbara Walters walking off stage due to his comments on Muslims in America, that is Bill O’Reilly’s truth only. He does not hold truth for everyone. Not even close.
