The Ballers Guide To Major Figure$ – Ballin Out I

In some cases, you will need to create a new you, a different you in order to create and build wealth.

The Ballers Guide to MAJOR Figure$ is a follow up book to my first release “How To Be Rich, Nigga”. The first book spoke generally
about what it takes to become financially wealthy and spoke in general terms about putting a plan in action to do so.

This second body of work dives more into the detail about creating the plan and working a plan to pursue and create wealth for you.
Capturing wealth is not easy, as we all know and is especially difficult for African-Americans since there are many factors in our way economically to even begin to think about the pursuit of wealth.

Many of our families have taught us historically that money is the root of all evil. In fact, my mother taught me this and would use church to re-enforce this fact of hers. I don’t fault my moms and don’t fault anyone who thinks like this because to a certain extent money does not create happiness. I have learned this lesson first
hand as well.

In some cases, you will need to create a new you, a different you in order to create and build wealth. You will need to come to know and
believe that wealth is necessary while we are living on this planet to sustain ourselves and make a decent life for ourselves here in America.

Manifest Dreams and Destiny

At all costs, make your dream happen because your dream is important. It is vitally important to you as a human being, to your spirit, and to your God. At all costs, make your dream happen because your dream is important. It is vitally important to you as a human being, to your spirit, and to your God. Your dream is important to your family, your children, your brother, your sister, your moms, your pops, and whomever whether they are living or not. Your dream means something and your ideas mean something to people. Please share them and do not keep yourself the best-kept secret. Your dreams will
motivate me and will drive me to continue to write, think, act, and do.

Continue to go to school even if you don’t think it really matters right now to anyone. It matters to God and to somebody that you cannot see right now. Someone wants you to touch them and reach out to them even if you do not know it and even if you are in a crazy relationship or situation right now. Share yourself and your
thoughts and dreams. Your dream has power. Please believe it.

Word of caution: be careful with the advice that some people give you in achieving your dream. Some people who actually think that they are giving you advice, will tell you that your dream has no power and doesn’t have a market. I was on a website the other day of another African-American writer who discouraged people from
writing their own personal story because he said that people do not care about the average persons story.

This advice is absolutely ridiculously stupid. Everyone’s story is important, has credence, and has power. Point is, do not listen to everyone who tells you that they have good advice just because they’ve so called been there before. Most people cannot see the forest through the trees for their own life and certainly cannot advise other people on anything. Be careful with listening to
others when you tell them your idea. Had I told anybody about this book prior to writing it, most would have laughed and said it was a stupid idea and that no one would buy it. So, listen but don’t listen to everybody. Press forward with the belief in God and belief in yourself. This will ultimately propel you forward during the dark times when it seems that no one else is listening to you and
checking in with you.

Do you see the power in the words and the goal? It is a lofty goal indeed…

It will start with you identifying how you want to live, creating a plan to achieve that lifestyle, and then embarking on the execution of making that happen and removing all thoughts of inadequacy
or thoughts that you cannot achieve it in order to actually achieve it. You’ve got to write when you don’t want to write. Search when you don’t want to search, read when you don’t want to read, and
make money when you don’t feel like making money in the manner that you have to make it today.

Always keep the end goal in mind and keep your sights firmly planted on the future of attaining your dream. Post your dream on a wall. Write it down and give it to 100 people. Share your dream with people. Make your goal and your dream big. For example, I will sell 500,000 copies of this book and its series of books for a profit of
$3 on each book because I own the copyright and the publishing. I will generate $15 Million in profits from this book over the next 5 years and donate $1 Million dollars of this to various charities and organizations including Midnight Basketball, Make A Wish Foundation, and the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation. I will create a fitness training center in Atlanta, GA to dedicate my life to training athletes to reach the professional level in various sports and primarily in football.

Do you see the power in the words and the goal? It is a lofty goal indeed but it motivates me to see it in print, see it in writing, and have you read it and affirm it by reading it right now. The more
it’s out there the more I am held to the dream to make it a reality. This pushes you forward. So, stake your claim in your dream and your lifestyle now. Decide today what that dream is and what
that lifestyle is. Make in concrete and say it over and over again to everyone you meet. Let them know that you will be creating a day care center, writing a novel, recording an album, creating a
clothing line and then go actually do it and put steps forward to achieve it no matter how small the step is.

Find the graphics design firm that you need. Find the job that you need to put a little money into your project to make it move forward. Find the building that you need to put your day care center
in. Write the marketing and the business plan. Don’t worry about how much money it will take right now to get it off the ground. The issue lies in you writing the plan and getting in started so that you can share it with someone who can help you achieve it and push it forward.

Building Inner Strength – Dive Deep

No one
wants to live a bullshit life doing some stuff that you don’t want to do.

I know these exercises are going to make some not want to do it but please follow this lead. It will help you become stronger. If you see dishes in the sink and you don’t feel like doing them right now, do it, now even though your inner mind is telling you to chill and that it is someone elses dishes anyway.

You come home from a long bus ride in downtown San Francisco all the way out to the Sunset District. You don’t feel like walking your
dog at Golden Gate Park. Take your dog out, and go for a very light run while you’re at it.

You get an assignment from school to read 3 chapters by tomorrow. You don’t feel like reading and feel like blowing off the work until
whenever. Read all 3 chapters and one extra one just to increase your inner power and inner strength.

You’d like a record deal with a major label but don’t know how to write your own lyrics. This forces you to depend upon someone to come up with good and decent lyrics. You will not get signed without knowing how to write. Sit down and begin writing one verse of a personal experience that you know about. Don’t fabricate any part of it. Use your own experience to write one paragraph down. Write about an experience you had in 8th grade. Write about the time that you saw someone jackin a 7-11 at gun point, write about the time that your house got broken into when you were a little kid. Push through the desire to give in and not want to write it down.

In order to succeed, you must overcome any laziness and any habit that stops you from pushing your individual dream forward. No one
wants to live a bullshit life doing some stuff that you don’t want to do. A lot of people want a full and meaningful life that is rewarding to them but don’t know how to start to get that life. You must decide today that you want to get a new life and set out on a journey to make that life happen. Will power and self discipline are going to play a huge role in you achieving that life that you want.

Building Your Net Worth

Black people need to build net worth and not just get jobs to maintain lifestyles.

How To Be Rich, Nigga by Gerard D. Spinks

Black people need to build net worth and not just get jobs to maintain lifestyles. You can have a household income of $100,000 per year and own your own residence but have a personal net worth
of only $25,000 if you do not have equity in either your own business or multiple properties. Again, I am not making light of this and making it sound easy to build your net worth. This is a life long
type of thing and takes time to build. You should plan on spending at least 10 years on building your net worth and hopefully, it would be good to create some sort of goal and attempt to reach a personal net worth of $1 Million in a ten year period.

Please separate your income from net worth. If you make $50,000 per year for ten years you will go through $500,000 in that ten years. If you do not own your home you would virtually have no
net worth. If you do not own a business, you have no net worth. If you own your home for five years and it cost you $100,000 and is now worth $150,000. You would have $50,000 net worth. If you take out a second for $25,000, your net worth decreases to $25,000.

If you buy ten more homes in 3 years for $100,000 and each appreciates to $125,000 in 5 years, your net worth would be $25,000 times 10 homes or $250,000. Net worth in the long run is
more valuable than hard income. It becomes passive income and will eventually allow you to live your life without having to earn hard income from a job each day, 5 days per week. If you do this for 30 years and your ten homes mature and get paid off to where they are free and clear by the time you turn 60 years old, you would retire with over $2 Million in equity and can live your retired years very good and without having to rely on Social Security for income.

The impact of education on your wealth can be immense. First of all, let me define what I think education is. Education is not always institutional and achieved by reading assigned text by a teacher
in a high school or university. Education can be gathered on the street and by listening and learning about other people from their stories.

I do not advocate dropping out of high school or college however and do believe that getting an education is good just from a standpoint of meeting new people and getting influenced positively to do and create new things.

Without an education of some sort, ninjas are left out in the cold relying upon the military for a job and being subjected to going to war, fighting for some country you know nothing about, and having the military pay for your college if you can return alive from going to war.

It is very important that you get some sort of education and complete this education in order to get ahead in this United States society. You must learn something to add value. You don’t
necessarily need a college degree for this education. But you need to learn something that you can turn around and sell to somebody else that is valuable. You can learn how to become a sound engineer by going to volunteer and a sound engineering studio for free and learning how to work the boards. You can go to a film editing
company and volunteer your time and learn how to edit films using an Apple G5 computer and all of the editing software on these computers.

The best approach to this is really NOT guessing at all. It keeps you neutral and doesn’t allow you to make any assumptions about what you are offering. You should make business assumptions based upon fact but do not make assumptions based upon emotion regarding your business. Never assume that you know that there are tons of people who will buy what you sell and never assume that you know that no one will buy what you sell. This is dangerous ground to tread on and you simply need to remain neutral without making assumptions unless they are based on fact.

All in all, put your plan together and simply act on the plan. After a year or two and in some cases earlier, you will know whom and where the people are that buy whatever it is you are selling. The people or buyers may be at flea markets, they may be in your neighborhood, they may be at shopping malls, or they may go to record stores every Saturday to buy the latest music.

Once you have a track record of knowing where these people are who buy what you sell because you have actually sold it to them, your confidence and power will increase and you will be closer to
your goal. If you have access to the Internet, this is one of the most powerful research tools that I have ever seen. In writing this book, I found my online publisher, found all of the schools that I
sell this book to, I found all of the stores that carry the book and who the buyer contacts are at the stores, and I found who will print my book for me at a decent rate.

This knowledge puts me that much ahead and also remove the guessing game from Jump Street. If you do not have access to the Internet, please at least get some kind of access from the local library or a local bookstore. Back in the early 1990’s when I was running my clothing company, all of my research had to be done manually and by going to the Oakland Business Library. With the Internet, I don’t have to travel anywhere to find out how to market and sell anything. I just need the courage to succeed and a fairly decent and simplified plan to make it happen. Don’t guess. Make it happen. Imagine it happening and dream that it will happen. Be patient, strong, stay up, and stay persistent and it will happen over time.

How To Deal With Sports Money

The only thing that I can really say on sports is to do the obvious, save your money in the event that injury or age catches up with you.

This blog post is taken from my book “How To Be Rich, Nigga” Chapter 15 and will be broken up into several blog posts. I break them up into smaller posts because the chapters are simply too long to post everything in one single blog post. I thank you, as always, for reading.

This is a great field for us to make money just because we dominate in most sports in the United States. It’s a great source of income and young athletes can make a lot of money quickly. I work for an American football combine service that the NFL, CFL, NFL Europe, and Arena Football Leagues use to scout and find good college talent.

I used to speak at these engagements to help athletes prepare for life in the NFL. The only thing that I can really say on sports is to do the obvious, save your money in the event that injury or age catches up with you. There are a lot of athletes who perform at a high level from the ages of 19-29 but their bodies go through a lot of wear and tear during this time. At the age of 30, you may find yourself traded and/or without a job or income and you’ve got to live a full long life from 30-90. That’s 60 years that you will most likely live but you only had high income for 10 years if you’re lucky and on average 5 years.

In gambling, you would hold your cards and hold your cash if I told you that you would win for 5 years but have to have money set-aside for the next 30 years. Hold on to your money, save it and get with a trusted financial advisor who can help you create an financial plan that will allow you to live comfortably from the ages of 30-75 without having to sell the mansion, the luxury cars, and all of your possessions when you’re only 40 years old. At 20, the age of 40 seems like a far way off, but it will come as sure as the clouds will arrive tomorrow. Plan for it. If you’re making $3 Million a year for 5 years this is good. You will earn about $15 Million over those five years and
bring home roughly $7 Million of it in those five years.

Don’t ever say you can’t learn anything from a fool or prisoner. The Black Geurilla Family was started in 1966 by Mr. George Jackson to protect black prisoners. While some prisoners have committed heinous crimes of an unspeakable nature, you can learn serious business tips from them.

Mr. Jackson first created a logo and a symbol of his team and organization. He created a clear mission statement: “eradicate racism, struggle to maintain dignity in prison, and overthrow the United States government”. Yes, the last part is crazy and delusional but do not miss the business value in what he did.

He organized his mission and then began to organize his team and mobilize his forces. He wrote down his clear mission statement so that it would be easier to share amongst his team and recruits. He was passionate even at a time of great pressure, anger, frustration, mental jail, and physical lock down. He was desperate and depressed. Through his desperation, he fought through it to organize himself and have a clear direction and clear strategy. Even in prison he wrote a business plan, worked the plan, tweaked the plan, and recruited a loyal following without any money at all.

The Black Guerilla Family is one of the strongest prison gangs in America. If you are in prison and you are an African American male, you would want to be a part of the team or suffer the consequences. This is the same in this economy and recession. You must do one of two things: either develop a strong team witih a clear mission statement and recruit loyal members, or become a part of a strong team with a clear mission statement and strong members.

Your gang will help you navigate through turbulent waters and tumultuous times. It will help you through difficulty and pain when you don’t know where to turn. This is what the BGF stands and stood for. You cannot sit on an island not knowing what to do. Just as in prison, you will get shanked, killed, and will not last long at all without being on a strong team and being an asset to that team. Disclaimer: I am not advocating that you jump into a prison gang and start gangbanging. I speak to prisoners to help reform them and teach that they must do similar to what they did inside the prison walls but legitimately.

Find a strong team member or mentor just like a gang leader. The gang leader should have a mission and a plan to mobilize and get moving. Listen and learn and grow but most importantly, do not be isolated and not speaking to your La Familia. Just as a true gang does, they listen to the persons problems. You always have a trusted soldier on your team and true successful gangs are extremely loyal. They do not flip and turn on their gang. If they do, a death oath is imminent. Business is not that serious but find a mentor and find a new team to learn and grow from. This is paramount to your success and your personal success.

Business Tips From The Batters Box

In today’s world, business is much like standing up at the plate in the batter’s box. If you’re not familiar with standing at a plate looking in the eyes of an opposing pitcher, it’s nothing easy. Similar to our economic climate right now, the whole process of being in the batter’s box is unpredictable.

When you stand up to the plate, you cannot make any assumptions and try to guess at what a pitcher is going to throw you. You cannot guess that it’s going to be a fastball, slider, curve ball, or change up. You need a tremendous amount of confidence just to stand up to the plate. Sound familiar? Similar to looking for a job or growing your business enterprise, you need to be confident despite being uncertain of what type of pitch you are going to get.

When I stand up to the plate in my baseball league, I am scared to death. By looking at me, nobody ever knows it. They have no idea that my knees are nearly shaking and I feel nervous coming to the plate. But in this nervousness, I feel confident at the same time. This is the same for your business or job search. It’s unnerving to continue to have to grow a small business enterprise. You don’t know where or when your next customer will buy your product or service but you have to move in confidence and know that someone will buy soon. You’ve got to keep heading to the plate. Even if you strike out 3 times, the 4th at bat might just get you on base and help you to score.

If you’re feeling uncertain about your business, hold tight. Keep swinging and keep marketing and selling yourself and/or your business. Don’t listen to any hype of what the market is doing in Atlanta. You have to just stay focused on the goal at hand and keep striving and pressing on. You will eventually hit the ball and return yourself back to a stronger position.
