We are an independent imprint label specializing in selling books and music to the hip-hop audience, soldiers, high school students, and college students. The books that we carry are by authors who specialize in writing material that is geared toward the urban community that can include large metropolitan areas in the United States and abroad.

That market can also include the African-American community at large and specifically targeted to the 15-25 year old ages. Our primary target audience is in high school, college, or in those age ranges of those years. This age group represents 75% of our target audience or 3 out of 4 African-Americans.

The Speculation of Librase

While on a book signing tour in the United Kingdom, his mother and father died in a plane crash on the way from Malta to Palermo.

I was thinking about the process of writing and putting together my third book and came across some old papers and writings of my first book titled “The Speculation of Librase”. I never released this book but I remember sitting around my house in California and coming up with this concept. The story that I came up with was about this African American boy named Librase who was brought up in a very rich suburb of Chicago called Hinsdale.

His father was a former professional NBA basketball player and his mother was an accomplished and highly successful best selling author. Librase was an only child living with his moms and pops in an unbelievable mansion complete with an air landing strip as a backyard. His parents’ private jet would fly in and out of their driveway in the back of the house in their own jet.

While on a book signing tour in the United Kingdom, his mother and father died in a plane crash on the way from Malta to Palermo. Librase could not handle the loss of both of his parents and despite the fact that they had millions, Librase simply couldn’t deal with the guilt of having all of this money that his parents left him.

Despite encouragement from friends, Librase began drinking and got hooked on heroine. He lost his parents’ home and all of his money and became homeless sleeping in the streets of Chicago. He ends up going to prison over some crazy foolishness that happens to him and while incarcerated ends up writing a book called “The Speculations”.

In a crazy twist of fate, Librase ends up meeting some cats in jail who ended up helping him restore his confidence after hearing their stories of living on death row.

I’m still finishing this manuscript and building the plot but it was fascinating to see my first book title and concepts on paper.

trucks are there right now moving you and your family into the house. Imagine the actual walls of the house, smell the new paint, see the new master bedroom and the new garden tub. Imagine the new wood smell of the new construction. Imagine your backyard, your upstairs, your downstairs, and your newly
finished basement.

Start knowing that your imaginations are real and that they will become reality as you speak them into reality. Begin slowly knowing that what you imagine, you can accomplish. Begin
knowing that what you can imagine is real to you. Begin knowing that what you perceive as reality will become your reality. Begin knowing that as you perceive a thing that is what they are. If you perceive yourself as wealthy, you will become wealthy. If you perceive and imagine yourself as broke, you will become broke.

Start now, start today, start fresh to believe that you are the leader of your new mission in building wealth and that wealth is now manifest today. Your dreams are real and your perception of yourself pursuing these dreams is real now and real today.

Believe. Imagine. Believe. Trust. Imagine. Believe in You. You will do it. You will achieve your dream. You are your dream. You
can accomplish your dream no matter what stands in the way. Your dream is real today.

Pursuing wealth is actually something that is not rocket science necessarily although it is hard to achieve.

Pursuing wealth is actually something that is not rocket science necessarily although it is hard to achieve. As long as you know the right ingredients to put together in the pot, you will know how to cook the right gumbo. Wrong ingredients and the gumbo will end up tasting very shitty, bottom-line. Wealth is the same way.

The first ingredient and one of the most critical aspects of creating and building wealth in black communities and inner city communities is learning to simply be about it. Many people talk about what they want to do, what they want to create, how they want to create it, and how they will have it in the future.

Bullshit. Stop talking. In order to build for the future, you need to be about it and stop talking about it. Truly. I run across people everyday or at least weekly that tell me that they have some
idea to create something for themselves or do something real big. But in reality, they don’t do anything to move their dream forward and in fact will start telling other people how to move things forward while they have done absolutely nothing to advance their own dreams/careers or aspirations.

Learn to be about your business instead of talk about your business. Learn to be discrete and stop announcing to the world your business
plans and/or your dreams. Learn to simply do it and be about it and people will respect the shit out of you when you get it done.

Building Inner Strength – Dive Deep

No one
wants to live a bullshit life doing some stuff that you don’t want to do.

I know these exercises are going to make some not want to do it but please follow this lead. It will help you become stronger. If you see dishes in the sink and you don’t feel like doing them right now, do it, now even though your inner mind is telling you to chill and that it is someone elses dishes anyway.

You come home from a long bus ride in downtown San Francisco all the way out to the Sunset District. You don’t feel like walking your
dog at Golden Gate Park. Take your dog out, and go for a very light run while you’re at it.

You get an assignment from school to read 3 chapters by tomorrow. You don’t feel like reading and feel like blowing off the work until
whenever. Read all 3 chapters and one extra one just to increase your inner power and inner strength.

You’d like a record deal with a major label but don’t know how to write your own lyrics. This forces you to depend upon someone to come up with good and decent lyrics. You will not get signed without knowing how to write. Sit down and begin writing one verse of a personal experience that you know about. Don’t fabricate any part of it. Use your own experience to write one paragraph down. Write about an experience you had in 8th grade. Write about the time that you saw someone jackin a 7-11 at gun point, write about the time that your house got broken into when you were a little kid. Push through the desire to give in and not want to write it down.

In order to succeed, you must overcome any laziness and any habit that stops you from pushing your individual dream forward. No one
wants to live a bullshit life doing some stuff that you don’t want to do. A lot of people want a full and meaningful life that is rewarding to them but don’t know how to start to get that life. You must decide today that you want to get a new life and set out on a journey to make that life happen. Will power and self discipline are going to play a huge role in you achieving that life that you want.

The new war is one of money and power. Everyone knows this bullshit except for us black folks sometimes. The game is about cash and not just cash now. The game is about long-term cash and holding down your cash for the long haul. Black folks need to learn this game now and forever more.

Everybody wants us to join the military, go overseas and fight someone who didn’t do shit to a nicca in East Oakland, South Chicago, Detroit, Bankhead, Decatur, The Bronx, or wherever. So,
keep your mind right. Negative influences are all around us every day. Negative influences are within the economy, the media, our families, and our friends. I’m not saying to diss yo family or any of that. Just keep your mind right. If someone says that they don’t think you can achieve your dream, don’t get mad, just keep
praying for guidance and for courage to keep dreaming but at the same time, keep executing on your dream.

Negativity must be countered by positivity within your self. For every negative action that happens to you, make a positive move three times to counter this affect. Use prayer and meditation to clear the negativity away from you and push this negative energy out of your cipher.

I’m also not saying to be all peaced out and wanting the world to be all peace around you in order to achieve. No dawg. I can get pissed off and go off all day on someone for tryin’ to salt my game. But no
worries, I come back and handle my business and keep writing. So, I don’t let all this societal and mental bullshit knock me off my game.
Sometimes it can try to penetrate but I stay prayed up and brush this shit off. I admit that this is a daily type of thing though as negative shit can try to appear to you everyday if you let it.

The trick is to minimize the negative stuff that impacts you and increase the positive stuff into your life. This is not easy depending upon your circumstances of ghetto life and ill type of shit
that is happening in your world. Again, I feel you. I understand, appreciate, and relate to what is happening in your world. But, at the same time, I believe that good is happening to you and me
right now. As I put these words out there to the universe right now, someone will read this, get inspired, and change their lives today. I know that good is happening to you and me today as you and I read this book. I believe in you and your ability to excel, exceed, and make your dream happen. I know that you have the power to achieve your dream, to reach your dream, and execute on your dream regardless of your financial situation today.

I know that your dreams will become manifest and that God is working to make all of your dreams become a reality now and forever more.

The impact of negativity on your plans can stop a niggas plan in its tracks. First thing is, you need to crazy believe in your product or project. Also, you need to protect your mind by saying positive
affirmations on the daily in order to keep your mind clean and pure. Trust, the mind is very powerful. The more negative thoughts that you have about yourself, takes away from you achieving anything.

This is what the devil had in mind during slavery. They knew that if they constantly told niggas that we weren’t shit, that we would slow believe this nonsense and not want to create and own shit for
ourselves. Please believe me, there was a plan for this shit that has us in this nigga type bullshit that’s jumpin’ off in terms of not having shit.

So, like I already talked about before, you must believe in you more than anything in the world. Forget what you heard, you MUST BELIEVE IN YOU and your ability to achieve the so called impossible. If George W. Bush believes that you would make a good soldier fighting and dying over some bullshit in Iraq, you should believe in you that you would make your own good soldier and become an economic warrior!

Dream Big To Create Wealth

The impact of dreaming big will also determine how high you go in reaching your dream and achieving wealth. Forget what you heard, dream and execute big style! In other words, if you are selling a product, set a goal to sell 250,000-500,000 copies of your product(s). Dreaming huge like this will have you act in a certain way
and have you driven on achieving it.

The bigger you dream the more you will try to achieve it. If you dream small, the risks are small for you and the more you may not follow the dream. For example, if you have a goal to sell 1,000 copies of what you have, it’s easier to bail out and forget your dream because you can figure, what the hell, you never thought that big about it anyway.

On the converse, if you set a goal to sell 500,000 copies, you will start to do whatever it takes to get to that goal especially if you start counting the potential money that you will earn if and when
you achieve the goal. If you sell 500,000 copies of something and you make $3 on each sale, you will earn $15,000,000. Forget the LOTTO, you just figured out how to earn millions in income.

It’s not going to be easy achieving it but with the prospect of $15 Million flashing in front of you, why not go for it. Your chances of achieving that in your lifetime even if it took you 10 years to achieve is better than the odds of winning a chance LOTTO for the same $15 Million.

You can see the power in the dream. If you have a dream of selling 1,000 copies, the potential income at $3 per item is $3,000. I’d rather put the shit together to sell 500,000 copies and go ahead
and work towards achieving this even if it takes me 12 years. Think about how many 745s, 545s, and CL55s you can purchase with this. Not to mention the fact that you paid for your house cash money, paid for your childrens’ education, and put money away in several annuities for the times when you may not sell this way in the near future. Go ahead work the plan and plan the work!

This chapter examines the impact of marketing on a cats wealth building abilities. Whatever you have, make, or sell, you need to have a serious marketing plan to reach as many people as possible.

Yeah, I know, many people have told you this but out of all the people that I consult with on a daily basis, very few businesses, regardless of their race, have a true marketing plan. It is not sufficient enough to just simply state that you want to attain
wealth or get a job or get a lot of contracts or whatever. Talking about this will get you nowhere. You must create a marketing plan and execute on the plan. Do not guess about your plan or your potential customers. You also dont need sophisticated plans to know who your customers are like all of these bullshit marketing people will tell you.

You need to reach as many people with your message that you can within your budget. I’ve seen some people do this at the local grocery store, some people try to reach people selling at the local gas station, and some people try to do it by word of mouth.

The numbers of people who see your message, buy into your message, and purchase whatever it is that you sell will determine your wealth. This means that if you talk to 25 people at the gas
station about your music, your chances of actually selling to these people are very low. You may sell 5 cds but it certainly will not make you rich.

Instead, go online to www.melissadata.com or www.usps.gov and find out the number of people that reside in your target zip code. If you don’t know the zip codes in the area that you wish to reach, go to the United States Post Office website listed above and enter the city and state name in the browser and it will show you all the zip codes for that specific city and/or area.

The best approach to this is really NOT guessing at all. It keeps you neutral and doesn’t allow you to make any assumptions about what you are offering. You should make business assumptions based upon fact but do not make assumptions based upon emotion regarding your business. Never assume that you know that there are tons of people who will buy what you sell and never assume that you know that no one will buy what you sell. This is dangerous ground to tread on and you simply need to remain neutral without making assumptions unless they are based on fact.

All in all, put your plan together and simply act on the plan. After a year or two and in some cases earlier, you will know whom and where the people are that buy whatever it is you are selling. The people or buyers may be at flea markets, they may be in your neighborhood, they may be at shopping malls, or they may go to record stores every Saturday to buy the latest music.

Once you have a track record of knowing where these people are who buy what you sell because you have actually sold it to them, your confidence and power will increase and you will be closer to
your goal. If you have access to the Internet, this is one of the most powerful research tools that I have ever seen. In writing this book, I found my online publisher, found all of the schools that I
sell this book to, I found all of the stores that carry the book and who the buyer contacts are at the stores, and I found who will print my book for me at a decent rate.

This knowledge puts me that much ahead and also remove the guessing game from Jump Street. If you do not have access to the Internet, please at least get some kind of access from the local library or a local bookstore. Back in the early 1990s when I was running my clothing company, all of my research had to be done manually and by going to the Oakland Business Library. With the Internet, I don’t have to travel anywhere to find out how to market and sell anything. I just need the courage to succeed and a fairly decent and simplified plan to make it happen. Don’t guess. Make it happen. Imagine it happening and dream that it will happen. Be patient, strong, stay up, and stay persistent and it will happen over time.
