5 Things To Do While Waiting On A Job

Do not sit there thinking someone will call you back in a week.

Believe in Yourself

Waiting on a job is time consuming by sheer fact that it’s boring as ever. With millions out of work, you are contending with hundreds of applicants for the same job. Here’s a trick I learned to balance the time.

1). Apply and walk away. Do not sit there thinking someone will call you back in a week. Spend your time doing something productive and not just talking on Twitter. Immediately, do 100 push ups in sets of 10 reps. Take your time and don’t try to rush through them. 10 sets of 10 reps. Do it.

2). Stop eating out and stop going through the drive through. That food is stress food even though it costs $1. Buy foods at the grocery store and cook your food on a George Foreman type of grill.

3). Stop eating processed foods that are pre-cooked in bags in the freezer section. These foods are not good for you.

4). Go for a long 4-5 mile fast walk everyday. Take away the excuses of why you can’t go. It will take your mind completely off the job search and make you feel sane. It also raises your metabolism and increases the blood flow through your body. Sitting around everyday is stopping blood flow and can lead to disease, death, heart attacks, etc.

5). Do 100 sit ups each day. Do not make 1 excuse of why you can’t do it. Do 10 sets of 10 reps. Do them now.

Black Mens Health Is A Priority

In reality, all men need to be cognizant of their health. But us black men really need to go get health checkups and find out if there’s anything going on inside our bodies that we cannot see. The death of A.J. Jewell has brought this to light because A.J. Jewell died in a bar fight in Atlanta, GA due to the physical exertion of the fight that triggered sickle cell anemia and heart disease that he was unaware of.

Had A.J. Jewell known about his health condition, he probably would have thought about jumping into a fight at all. From the medical examiners report, it appears that any physical exertion or extreme exertion would have caused this. So, had he sprinted or done any type of major basketball workout, he would have known that it started causing him breathing issues. Of course, it’s easier to say that now because he’s gone. However, this makes the rest of us know what to do and get a check up.

For some reason, the black community and men especially do not have a love relationship with doctors. I personally don’t mind because I want to know what’s is going on inside my body and have since I had to get physicals for football in high school and college. But, overall, we need to head to the doctor to get our colon checked, our heart checked, and get blood tests. Women do this naturally since they are the ones typically needing a doctor for childbirth, pap smears, and other check ups. We need to start this practice now and get at least an annual check up.

Struggling during this holiday season with being unhappy? It’s okay and I understand. In order to get through struggles and unhappiness, you must get moving and move the body right NOW. There is absolutely nothing better for the body and unhappiness than to MOVE and GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY!

I don’t care what you’re doing and what gym you may not have the money for, go outside and work it out to relieve any type of stress during this Christmas and Kwanzaa season. Moving the body massively takes your mind off of stress and it releases endorphines in the body which make you feel better. I need you to do this every single day of your life for 21 days straight. This is not a New Year’s resolution. This is a daily commitment to improve your self esteem, your view of your life, and increase your relationship with yourself and God.

And when I say workout, I don’t mean a quick little 15 minute workout in front of the television. Go outside and walk for one solid hour or even two solid hours. You will be amazed at what the outside air will do for your mental state of being and your emotional health. I need everyone to be healthy now and forever until God takes you.

There is very little that we can control in this day and time except one thing: our minds and our bodies. We may not be able to control hiring managers or whether we get unemployment but what we can control is how we think, how we prepare for tomorrow, and our bodies.

We can control being in shape and working out. Nobody can dictate that and no one can take that away from you. If you feel like everything is out of control, I encourage you to workout and at least be healthy during these difficult times. If you can’t get up and go to a job because no one is hiring you, it’s ok. You can at least get up and workout and control your self-image and your outer image.

That’s the greatest thing you can do in difficult times. Control your mind and your body and achieve inner peace and happiness until things change outwardly. And even when it does change, keep it up and stay in shape.

Fitness should never be something that you feel that you are too young or too old to do. Many of us make huge excuses why we should not work out.

I encourage everyone to just remove the excuses and start today on fitness. The funny thing is that you don’t need to pay a gym to be fit. Fitness can be really cheap and affordable and seriously keep you away from doctors for most minor ailments.

Young people should workout, middle aged people should workout, and older people should workout. America needs to get moving and stop focusing on harnessing someone to a desk and never moving the body. The body is a fine tuned machine meant to actually move around. Move it, today!

Yes, we need to be insured but many health related issues come from when we were kids. Many programs in the schools are removing recess and exercise from the schools. This amounts to kids becoming lethargic and not having exercise as a daily regiment.

This lack of exercise manifests itself as health problems when we become adults. Of course not all disease or illness has to do with keeping in shape, but you’d be amazed at what minor illnesses can be prevented if we workout on a daily basis.

Preventative health methods should be used each week and at minimum a walk should be done to stay in shape. I really recommend doing much more than walking if you can and doing something that you absolutely love as fitness to stay in shape.

Some ideas can include rollerskating, fast walking for 1 hour each day, biking on a trail, running, weight lifting, football workouts, baseball workouts, etc. The key lies in doing what YOU love. Do not do some program that you do not like or that does not motivate you.

Your Daily Workout Should Also Include Stretching

How To Get Fit In An Unfit World

America is inundated with advertisements on food that will kill you. As a nation, we are the global world leader and authority on obesity, overweight earthlings, and plain old fat stores on the body. America is inundated with advertisements on food that will kill you. As a nation, we are the global world leader and authority on obesity, overweight earthlings, and plain old fat stores on the body. On top of this, we then have companies that get rich off of then selling instant cures to this weight problem.

[picapp src="d/6/5/4/Floyd_Mayweather_Open_39b1.jpg?adImageId=6636089&imageId=4863078" width="380" height="243" /]

You have to first understand that your body is a very complex machine that God has made for us. It knows exactly what to do because our bodies are directly connected to our minds. The body knows when to store fat and it knows exactly how to get rid of fat when it is working. There is no magic pill that will make fat go away because the body doesn’t respond like this.

You can’t just raise your metabolism or your heart rate by taking something. I thoroughly recommend something simple to reduce weight. The first thing to do is immediately stop eating processed foods. Processed foods are the pre-cooked frozen meals at the grocery store that people have convinced us that we need because we simply don’t have time to cook anything.

You don’t even need super excellent nutrition to get the weight down. You don’t need to munch on salads everyday. You need to remove processed foods and start baking or grilling your food.

The next thing you need to do is walk every single day without fail. America has become so dependent on the automobile that we never, ever walk anywhere. People were thinner in the pre-industrial and pre-automobile age because we relied on bicycles and walking to go anywhere. I recommend walking every single day for at least 4 miles or 1.5 to 2 hours each day.

You will be amazed at how much weight you start to drop just by doing that alone. The combination of removing processed foods and walking 2-4 miles each day will make you start dropping weight in 30 days. Don’t make any excuses. Just walk. Get a good pair of running or walking shoes so that the walk is comfortable for you. If you don’t like walking or hiking, simply get on a bicycle and ride your bike each day.

The key to reducing any amount of weight anywhere on your body lies in doing the task every single day of your life so that it becomes a habit. Good habits are where breakthroughs and success live.
