Developing A Proof Of Concept #entrepreneur

Before knowing whether or not your business idea works, you may want to develop a proof of concept and then take 90 days to try it out and let others try it out. This only applies if you have that type of product or service. For example, you have a great T-shirt idea but you don’t know if it will work. Before bringing others into it and fund it for you, build a small sample of your designs, get them done and printed, and take them to a small local retailer and ask them to place the product in their store for you on consignment.

If you have an idea that can be put on the internet, get the website done and then market what you have on the web for 90 days and prove that you can sell it. The key to being able to bring any investors on board whether you sell music, toys, tshirts, or whatever is to prove that you can sell it yourself. No one will fund something that is not proven anymore. This is NOT personal. Look at the capital markets around us. They have collapsed making it even more difficult to get funding. This means that you must develop your proof of concept proving even to yourself that you have something people are willing to pay for. Good luck!

If your best isn’t quite good enough for your boss or someone in your family, I seriously suggest you start to do for yourself. You see, you’ll never quite measure up to someone else’s standards of you. However, you will measure up to standards that you create for yourself provided they are realistic.

And the best thing about it is that you can critique yourself and not hear someone else’s critique of you. Start your own project, be your own boss, dance to the beat of your own drum. Only then will you know and appreciate true freedom.
