Happy Friday,

Well, its March 11th which means two things: Its my Mom’s Birthday (Happy Birthday Mom :) and its also the FINAL DAY of our fund-raising campaign for “Echo at 11 Oak Drive”.

Right now, at this very moment we are about 17% funded. Although it would seem that we are not going to make our goal, there are things happening in the background that keep us positive. We were recently informed that if we can raise half of our $80K goal, we have an investor that would contribute the other half. We are extremely excited about that and now believe more than ever that we can reach our goal! Additionally we were informed by the people of IFundie.com that we can keep the funds raised thus far so that we can continue on our journey. This is amazing news because with most crowd-funding sites if you do not reach your goal, you do not receive any of the money!

Again we ask for your donations no matter how large or small $1, $5, $10, $20…….$5000 :-)

Perfect scenarios:

- 5 people donate $5000 or more
- 25 people donate $1000 or more
- 50 people donate $500 or more
- 100 people donate $250 or more
- 500 people donate $50 or more
- 1000 people donate $25 or more

WE CAN DO THIS! Please check our blog (http://echoat11oakdrive.blogspot.com/) for more information and to see the support we have garnered thus far or just go ahead and click this link to donate now http://www.ifundie.com/echofilm

If you have already pledged and become a part of the Echo Family, I salute you!! This entire process has shown me that no matter what society looks like on the news, there are still lots of genuinely good-hearted people that want to help others. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is HOPE :-)
We are holding on to HOPE today and we BELIEVE. Please believe with us and be a part of this DREAM come true :-)

Have a wonderful Friday and please help at least one other person pledge to Echo today,

THANK YOU!

Walking On Water with Atlanta Filmmaker Crystle Roberson

For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been walking on water. I set out on a seemingly impossible journey, and honestly, I was a bit afraid before I began. However, I have faith in God and belief in the passion that has been placed in my heart to reach this goal. Now, after two weeks, I have no doubt! And, it feels great!!

Echo at 11 Oak Drive Film – Help Fund A Great Film Project

“Echo at 11 Oak Drive” is a film that tells three stories that transpire under the same roof over three eras of time. 1951, 1973, and 2010. Although each occurrence is unique, the dialogue is identical; proving that history repeats itself in the oddest of ways.

Why do we need $80,000 Dollars?

Dianne Ashford, graduate of Atlanta’s Walter F. George High School attended Florida A&M University where she received a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. Upon graduation, she was recruited by and accepted a position with SBC Communications, Inc. (now AT&T) in St. Louis, MO. While there she enjoyed many years filled with promotions and accolades, and after 6 years in the corporate world, she decided to pursue a career in the arts.

Taking a thirty-day leave of absence to work on Rainforest Films’ Trois 2: Pandora’s Box as the producer’s intern, the experience was so valuable and intriguing that Dianne immediately resigned from her job and embarked on a new career as a film producer. She moved back to her hometown of Atlanta, GA in 2001 and immediately obtained a position as Production Coordinator for PM Pictures’ The Kudzu Christmas. As a result of her hard work and tenacity, she was asked to stay on, as the Director of Operations for the company once the film was complete.

One year later, Dianne returned to Rainforest Films where she received her first experience and worked in distribution on the theatrical release of Trois 2: Pandora’s Box. She continued her tenure with Rainforest Films through production and video distribution of Pandora’s Box, Lockdown and Motives.

In 2003, Dianne and partner Angi Bones, co-founded Symmetry Entertainment and in May of 2004, completed their first film entitled A Complex Occupation. The film’s title was later changed to Trois: The Escort. Dianne continued her career as Line Producer for the hit film The Gospel, producer for a controversial documentary about migrant border crossers entitled Season of Death , producer of Motives 2, co-producer of Three Can Play That Game (sequel to the hit movie Two Can Play That Game), Line Producer of Pastor Brown and currently Line Producer of Stomp The Yard 2

Never one to be confined to just one aspect of the industry, Dianne recently produced three commercials for CNN and two Meet The Browns promo for TBS.

Her latest endeavor includes writing and she completed her first screenplay in February of 2009. She continues to challenge herself and learns something new from every production experience.

Film Producer Vs. Film Director (Celebrity Guest Blog by Dianne Ashford)

“I meet people all the time with a desire to be a director and/or a producer but most don’t know the difference in the job responsibilities, so I thought I would take this time to define the two in laymen terms.”

Dianne Ashford is a film producer who has a long compendium of films and owner of Symmetry Entertainment in Atlanta, GA. She is a producer for Rainforest Films who is responsible for the films Stomp The Yard, Stomp The Yard 2, Obsessed, and other major films. She is an award winning film producer and outright beautiful and caring person.

“I meet people all the time with a desire to be a director and/or a producer but most don’t know the difference in the job responsibilities, so I thought I would take this time to define the two in laymen terms.

Directors are creative people. They provide direction to virtually every department on the set from the cast to the locations. They consult with the wardrobe department on the style of the characters. They meet with the Art Department on the look and design of the sets. They collaborate with the Director of Photography (DP) on the visual look of the film and the camera movement (pan left to right, tilt up or down). They are concerned with all things in front of the camera. They provide the vision.

Producers are action people. We do everything in our power to make the Director’s vision a reality. Our world is behind the camera. We negotiate deals with actors, hire the crew and maintain the budget. We are the point of contact for all things right or wrong (mostly wrong) on a set. We are the most celebrated and hated people on the set; The Kings and Queens of “NO”. Not the most glamorous job, but somebody has to do it! That’s where I come in J!

In essence, both jobs are crucial to the movie making process but they are two totally different beasts and I’ve only given you a small look into some of the real responsibilities! No two days are the same, there are challenges both must face on the daily basis but that’s why the movie making business is so magical and that’s why you have to LOVE what you do to do it!”
